Tasiilaq is located on Ammassalik Island just south of the Arctic Circle. The town boasts long hours of daylight during the summer and the splendor of the northern lights in the winter. With just over 1.900 inhabitants makes the town the largest in East Greenland, virtually the outskirts of civilization.

Small colorful wooden houses are scattered on the mountainsides, beautifully situated by an almost circular fjord and surrounded by high mountains. Tasiilaq is rightfully considered as one of the most beautiful towns in Greenland.

A small river flowing through the Valley of Flowers behind the town divides the town in two. June through August this valley is the perfect place to enjoy and have a close look at the unique arctic flora.

The town is located only a 10-minute helicopter ride from Kulusuk, but this short flight is one of the most scenic expeditions imaginable as you cross the ice-filled sea separating these two mountainous islands.

During the summer there are varieties of activities available. You can go hiking, climbing, sea kayaking, sailing between the icebergs, whale safaris and as well on helicopter trips to the ice sheet or glaciers.

Flight from Reykjavik airport departing at 10:10 to Kulusuk arriving at 10:00 local time. (Flight duration is 1 hour 50 minutes)
10 minute helicopter ride from Kulusuk to Ammassalik.

Day 2
Free time to try any of the exciting activities available in the area.

Day 3
Helicopter ride from Ammassalik to Kulusk.
Flight back from Kulusuk at 16:00 arriving in Reykjavík at 17:50.
